Greetings!

I'm Rafael Teodoro and I believe school should be a place where people make things and most of what I do is about closing the gap between that idea and the classroom as it actually exists.

I've spent my career on every side of that gap. I've been a K12 teacher. I've trained teachers. I teach Education at the college level, where my core course is Creativity and Innovation in Education and where I get to watch future teachers discover that creativity is a skill you develop, not a talent you're born with or without. I've worked inside the edtech industry, building partnerships with school networks that serve hundreds of thousands of students across the globe. And I've read the policy frameworks, the vendor decks, and the research closely enough to know how rarely they agree.

That's what this is about: how learning becomes creative. What that looks like in a real lesson with real constraints. What gets in the way. And where technology (including AI) helps and where it just adds noise. I don't do hype and I don't do doom. I do firsthand observation from someone who has to make these things work in actual schools.

My lens is critical pedagogy: Freire, Vygotsky, the idea that creation is how people come to understand their world, and that technology in education is never neutral. The question is always who does it serve, and whether it makes students more capable of making something of their own.
